Pregnancy 2 - Weekly Update: 24

{  Ooops, super blurry  }

How far along? 24 Weeks

How much weight have you gained?  19ish lbs

Any cravings? Nothing specific this week, but all the Halloween candy coming our way is pretty irresistible.

What are you wearing? The most comfortable things I own are my swing dresses from Old Navy (not even maternity) + leggings. I might have to try to get more, because they might be the only things I'll be able to wear up until the end of this pregnancy.

How are you feeling? Symptoms? A little sore and swollen, but not too bad.

Stretch marks? Not yet.

Belly button in or out? Out.

Sleep? So I got the pillow. I hated it the first night so much that I threw it out of bed, which was quite a feat because it is MASSIVE (it is one of the U shaped ones, not the C shape). Trying to use it like all the comfy looking people in the picture just didn't work for me. It was too short for me, and made my neck very uncomfortable. However, after some more trial and error I've found a way to sleep kindof on top of it that has been working. I've been getting some GREAT naps, but I frequently wake up at 4:45am and have trouble getting back to sleep.

Best moment this week: I'm not sure, there's been a lot of good this week! My parents are in town and Tyler's parents also visited. We had a good doc appointment, and found that everything was looking really good. We did some fall festivities. It's been so nice!

Worst moment this week:  I was really excited for our doctor appointment this week, but when we got there we were told the doctor was out doing a c-section and they forgot to schedule the ultrasound that we were supposed to have. :( So I spent a few minutes being really disappointed. It all ended up working out though, because they were able to squeeze us in for a super quick ultrasound, and then we didn't have much of a wait before the doctor was able to make it back.

Miss anything? Comfy clothes. It's hard, guys.

Movement? We had an ultrasound and got to see where the babies were positioned again, so I think I have a pretty good idea which kicks are whose. Tyler got to see some big tummy poppin' kicks this week too!

Excited for anything? Halloween this week! I think I'm just going to go with my stand-by pregnancy costume: Juno.

How’s dad-to-be? Good. He hasn't even complained about the monstrosity of a pillow that now sleeps with us.

How's sister-to-be? She still hasn't gotten to feel the babies move because she's too impatient, but she talks about them sometimes and refers to them individually as Baby A and Baby B.

Pregnancy 2 - Weekly Update: 23

I'm late posting this, and it's probably going to happen a lot this time around because life. toddler. etc. But I bump up to the next week every Saturday. I wrote this on Friday but was late getting a picture for it. – also, I can’t remember if I was doing pictures at the beginning of each week or the end of each week last time. And I’ve been too lazy to go back and figure it out. This time I am writing and taking pictures at the end of each of the weeks.

{  This does not accurately convey the size of my belly. There is a glare that is helping to hide it and maybe I stand abnormally for pictures? Tyler and I bot think I look much larger than this in real life.

How far along? 23 Weeks
(Picture is from the beginning of 24 weeks instead of the end of 23 weeks technically.) Doc this week said I was measuring at 28 weeks singleton size.

How much weight have you gained?  16 pounds

Any cravings? I haven’t mentioned it, but I have been craving ice again this time around. Constantly filling my cup up with crushed ice at home, and bought a bag of Sonic ice for the freezer at work to munch on. Also, it hasn’t been an acute craving but I’ve been digging cucumbers this whole pregnancy too. Sometimes plain and sometimes in vinegar/water with dill, salt and pepper. Yum!

What are you wearing? There's something new and fabulous in my life: Maternity undies!

How are you feeling? Symptoms? Waddle-y, sometimes stiff, and experiencing some swelling. Overall, very pregnant already.

Stretch marks? No, and my belly has been slightly less itchy this week.

Belly button in or out? Out even further.

Sleep? Ugh. It’s not been great. I wake up almost every night at 2:45am. Lots of tossing and turning, but my pregnancy pillow was restocked so I ordered one. Can’t wait to try it out!

Best moment this week: A couple good things happened this week. We went and met with an OBGYN since we can’t stay with our midwives, and overall, we liked her! We’re going back next week and also consulting with another OBGYN next week just for options, but I would definitely be comfortable staying with the 1st.

Also, I FINALLY went to prenatal yoga. I loved it last time and went pretty much every single week, but just haven’t been able to get to one this time around. (Minus the one that I showed up for that was cancelled and I ended up doing some self-guided yoga with another lady who didn’t get the memo.) This class was TWO whole hours, which was a bit long, and taught by a labor and delivery nurse. That night was probably the best night of sleep I got all week though.

Worst moment this week:  Just being tired from the fitful sleep.

Miss anything? Missing walks and hikes. We haven’t been getting out enough.

Movement? I’m trying to start differentiating the babies, but it’s tough. I usually get the most kick either high and to the left or low and to the right, so I think those are consistently different babies, but don’t know for sure. At our appointment they had their heads together in the middle and their bodies and feet were basically ying-yanging around.

Excited for anything? Family visiting this week! Also, Hazel has been pretty sweet and I’m really excited to see her as a big sister. She will be great (hopefully)!

How’s dad-to-be? He found more grey hair this week.

How's sister-to-be? When we ask her what we should name her sisters, her response lately has been, "Not cados." Which means, "not avocados." But she did suggest fruit... "Maybe Apple and Banana." :)

Pregnancy 2 - Weekly Update: 22

How far along? 22 Weeks

How much weight have you gained?  14 pounds

Any cravings? Not really. But anything sugary sounds better than non-sugary alternatives, which is not ideal when trying to eat healthy.

What are you wearing? Some of my t-shirts and tanks can still work, but mostly maternity wear now.

How are you feeling? Symptoms? Still feeling pretty good. Some aches and pains and stiffness on occasion, but not all the time. I have been a little sore from our road trip (my left arm - whyyyy?), but it's not as bad as I had expected.

Stretch marks? Not yet.

Belly button in or out? Out. Hazel really thinks it's funny looking, but she also told me its cute. Tonight we were comparing our belly buttons, and she wanted to do some belly bumps. Now she thinks its hilarious to stick our bellies together.

Sleep? Sleep is getting more restless. I finally decided to buy a pregnancy pillow. I had one picked out and waiting in my shopping cart for a few days, and when I decided to order it, it was unavailable. :( Boo!

Best moment this week: We were in Colorado the past weekend and got to see old friends, celebrate a wedding, and I got to float around in a warm hot spring pool. Not a hot tub, but a close second and totally safe for the babes.

Worst moment this week:  Riding in the car for long periods on our road trip. It actually went much better than expected, but sitting for that long was still not the highlight.

Miss anything? I miss having a strong appetite. I just don't feel like I'm eating enough and it's not fun.

Movement? Yep! Still partying in there.

Excited for anything? It's fall, and I THINK things are about to slow down for us a little bit. Sitting by the fire and not going anywhere sounds great. There's also lots of cleaning, unpacking the car, and picking up pine needles in our weekend plans, but I'm sure there will be some doing NOTHING as well.

How’s dad-to-be? Still planning, and looking for good deals on a twin baby carrier. He's already looking forward to taking Hazel and the twins to the grocery store (or anywhere in public) because he knows people will fawn over him and tell him he's the best dad ever. (Apparently, he's having visions of crowds gathering and singing, "For he's a jolly good fellow...") I'm looking forward to it too, because that means I'll be getting a nap break at home! :)
